I'm sure most of you have already seen this, then again our friends list is smaller over here and I wanted to preach to the choir some more. I edited some of the tags that were in here because they would end up linking to InsaneJournals as opposed to LiveJournals

First off bad_wolf_bitch (deleted lj user) was the epitome of stupid for going to the California AG's office to whine about LJ/6A sporadically enforcing their TOS. She wasn't wronged in this mess. Not to mention she has claimed to have spent upwards of $3000 on LJ. If I had that kind of money I would find things other than LJ to spend it on. Just a quick little maths and I count only $72 that I have invested. She should have a permanent account by now after spending that much.

We really need to fly under the radar. Not many people will accept fan art that depicts Harry and Severus going at it in the Potions classroom. I'm sure the AG would have a field day with it. bad_wolf_bitch just threw our hobby into everyone's faces and waved it around like some flag. That's like complaining that you got thrown out of your apartment for doing drugs while your dealer in the same building didn't.

While I don't particularly like the pro-starve/suicide/beat-your-kids/beat-your-dog type groups, to drag them into it is just nuts. That's like saying if you think we're naughty, look at them. We don't need to compare ourselves to them, nor do we need to equate ourselves to them. We need to stop pointing fingers at everyone else and looking into ways that we can fly under the radar again. If that means going to a different server such as IJ or GJ or JF, then so be it.

There was a time when even adult actors couldn't portray underagers in sexual situations. I know this because the adult store I worked at had to remove all of the Cherry Poppers series from the shelves. If you don't know what Cherry Poppers is do a google search. During the time they were off the shelf they were considered kidde porn. I'm sure there were some backlot deals going on somewhere in the world but I wasn't involved.

So, let's get our heads screwed on straight, shall we? If you think even for a fleeting second that your artwork is questionable, lock it or don't post it at all. Because if the Center for Missing and Exploited Children get involved you may not have a computer left to speak of by the time they get done with it, even if they find nothing else but your artwork. I don't mind seeing artwork like what got this latest shitstorm started, but ponderosa121's art was obviously of fictional characters. When it comes to art that looks like real person chan, I have to draw the blurry line. I may be calling for self-censorship, but we all have to make choices of some sort. We also have to live with the consequences good or bad.
